May 5, 2005 - Second Beta Release
The second beta release of Scalable Systems Software is now available. A new Maui refresh enables SSS suspend/resume preemption. Bamboo now supports task groups and PBS-style node properties. The Gold Allocation Manager implements distributed accounting and a fault tolerant server.
November 1, 2004 - First Beta Release
The beta release of Scalable Systems Software is now available. This release implements version 3.0.3 of the SSSRMAP communication specifications supporting advanced job functions. A new Maui refresh features improved diagnostics. Bamboo now supports interactive jobs, multi-step jobs, and a job submission filter. Gold features message encryption, a new web gui and an improved allocation design.
August 5, 2004 - Second Alpha Release
The second alpha release of Scalable Systems Software is now available. This release fully implements version 3 of the SSSRMAP communication specifications. It includes the latest version of the production Maui scheduler with support for a large number of resource management systems. Gold was rewritten in Perl (from Java) and includes many feature enhancements.
March 31, 2004 - First Alpha Release
The alpha release of Scalable Systems Software is now available. This release fully implements version 2 of the SSSRMAP communication specifications. It includes alpha releases of the Bamboo Queue Manager, the Gold Accounting and Allocation Manager and the Warehouse System Monitor. It also includes a new SSS release of Maui-3.2 and the popular Torque Resource Manager.
November 14, 2003 - Early Pre-Alpha Release for SC2003
An early release of Scalable Systems Software is being made available for the 2003 SuperComputing Conference timeframe. The Resource Management and Accounting components implement version 2 of the SSSRMAP communication specifications. This release includes pre-alpha releases of new components such as the Bamboo Queue Manager, the Gold Accounting and Allocation Manager, and the Warehouse System Monitor. These components are also being packaged in an OSCAR release (sss-oscar).
September 11, 2003 - Initial Scalable System Software release v1.0!
The initial v1.0 release of the Scalable Systems Software Suite is now available! This release includes a version of OpenPBS with scalabilty patches and functionality enhancements, the Maui Scheduler, and the QBank Allocation Manager. An SSS front-end (sss_xml_svr) is provided to translate SSS protocol requests into OpenPBS and QBank API requests if desired.
